Antonio Mancini

Since 2008, I have been conducting research on the life and work of the Italian painter Antonio Mancini (Rome, 1852-1930). My academic work has also focused on this artist:

Bachelor’s thesis: “Antonio Mancini: The Early Works” (Dec. 2009)
Master’s thesis: “Mancini, Sargent, and Portraiture in Europe Between the Nineteenth and Twentieth Centuries” (Jan. 2012)
PhD: “British Artists in Rome (1883-1913): Presences, Exchanges, and Influences on Italian Portraiture” (May 2016)
Since 2012, I have published several studies and curated two exhibitions on Mancini (see here and here). Currently, I am working on a new study about his time in England and Ireland. If you have any information about the paintings he created there, please email me at info@manuelcarrera.it
